Job summary

Boston Government Services, LLC is seeking a Nuclear Criticality Safety Engineer to support clients in Oak Ridge, TN, Idaho Falls, ID, and remote locations. This full-time role performs criticality safety evaluations for fissile materials handling, storage, processing, and transportation, with hazard analyses, documentation, and safety controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5+ years in nuclear industry or regulated operations.
• Experience with safety analyses, technical evaluations, or safety documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear criticality safety evaluations to ensure safe handling, storage, processing, and transportation of fissile materials.
• Develop, review, and maintain criticality safety documentation, analyses, and procedures per regulatory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement criticality safety controls and limits for nuclear operations and projects.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering, operations, and safety personnel on criticality safety requirements.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and reviews to demonstrate compliance with nuclear safety regulations and standards.
• Support hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety reviews for nuclear facilities and activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve safety issues and support project execution.
• Assist with training development and delivery related to nuclear criticality safety.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and industry best practices.
• Work effectively in a team environment to communicate and exchange information.
