Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Nuclear Fluence & Radiological Engineer to join the Core Design and Safety Analysis organization within its Fuel Business Unit. This role focuses on vessel fluence analysis, radiological analysis, licensing support, and advanced nuclear modeling for commercial power plants.

You’ll lead licensing activities, interface with utility customers and regulators, apply MCNP and other tools, and produce design reports and safety analyses.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience performing vessel fluence analysis.
• PWR experience strongly preferred; BWR acceptable.
• Hands-on experience with fluence and radiological analysis.
• Experience with nuclear modeling codes: MCNP, SCALES, SERPENT, OpenMC, ATILLA.

Responsibilities

• Lead reload licensing and first-of-a-kind licensing activities.
• Perform vessel fluence analysis (PWR preferred; BWR acceptable).
• Conduct dose, source term, shielding, transportation, and SFP criticality analyses.
• Apply optimization tools and automation to streamline analyses.
• Develop, maintain, and apply computer models using industry-standard codes.
• Interface with customers and regulatory authorities to support code approvals.
• Prepare and review design reports, safety analyses, calculation packages, and technical documentation.
