Job summary

Proper Voltage is seeking an NPI Prototype Procurement Manager to own fast-turn prototype sourcing during new product development, ensuring parts are production-ready and not overpaying. You will partner with engineering, prototype contract manufacturers, and the production sourcing team to track cost, supplier, and transition readiness as designs stabilize.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in procurement or sourcing supporting new product development in a hardware environment.
• Direct experience with fast-turn/quick-turn sourcing (rapid prototyping shops, quick-turn machining or fab).
• Experience working with a contract manufacturer's own sourcing team and navigating around them when needed.
• Ability to operate independently and build process where none exists yet.

Responsibilities

• Run quick-turn RFQs and place orders for strategic prototype-bound parts.
• Partner with engineering during design reviews and build planning to understand changes and stabilization.
• Manage supplier relationships for quick-turn shops separate from production suppliers.
• Prototype-to-production handoff: track parts sourced by prototype CMs, flag transitions to production, and hand off context to production sourcing team.
• Cost visibility: own should-cost tracking and identify where markups are justifiable or not.
• Cross-functional partnership with engineering, materials, and production teams on handoffs and timing.
