Job summary

The Mountain Sky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a Controller to lead accounting functions including AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close. This position partners with the Conference Treasurer to ensure accurate financial reporting for Colorado, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and part of Idaho.

Hybrid role based in the Denver, CO area with travel and generous benefits. The successful candidate will bring nonprofit accounting expertise, GAAP knowledge, and strong leadership to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
• At least five years in a Controller role in nonprofit or church accounting.
• CPA is preferred; GAAP knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll and monthly closings.
• Prepare financial statements, regulatory reports and audit documentation.
• Coordinate annual audit with CFA and Treasurer; supervise staff.
• Develop and produce monthly financial statements for stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards.
