Job summary

Arts FMS delivers exemplary nonprofit financial management services and partners with arts organizations across the country. We seek a Finance Consultant to manage multiple client relationships, payroll, bookkeeping, and month-end close in a fully remote setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years nonprofit accounting, strong communication in virtual settings, and proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks Online; a Master’s degree is a plus and a passion for the arts is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of nonprofit accounting experience; arts sector preferred.
• Experience in a finance department and managing various financial operations.
• Experience creating financial documents for board and staff.
• Strong communication skills and relationship-building abilities.
• Interest in engaging with clients primarily through virtual channels.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work flexibly.
• Genuine interest in performing/visual arts.

Responsibilities

• Drive projects to completion with oversight of Finance Associate or Assistant.
• Deliver excellent client service through verbal and written communication and needs analysis.
• Handle multiple time-sensitive priorities with GAAP and nonprofit accounting knowledge.
• Utilize Excel and QuickBooks Online.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies.
• Lead budgeting initiatives and prepare cash flow projections.
• Oversee cash flow, audits, and financial reporting.
