Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to provide night remote on-call coverage for Surgical House Patients from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Monday through Sunday. Occasional on-site reporting may be required for urgent care decisions.

The APP will assess and admit patients, assist in OR, and support discharge planning under the Chief of Surgery. Requires NP license with RNFA and ACLS/BLS, 0–1 years post-graduate surgical APP experience, and strong clinical judgment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills to educate patients and coordinate with teams.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a high-stakes setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive focused history and physical exams on surgical patients admitted through the ED or Observation.
• Initiates labs, imaging, and tests to evaluate illness and determines diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Answers to supervising surgeon and writes initial orders; assists in procedures and perioperative care.
