Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, Inc. is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for night on-call coverage in the Surgical Department. Shifts run from 7p to 7a, with some reports required for urgent concerns or triage limitations.

The APP serves as a key clinician in pre, peri, and post-operative care under the supervision of surgery attendings. The role includes initial patient assessment, admission, intraoperative assistance, postoperative care, and discharge planning for BID-Needham

Qualifications

• Eligible for Nurse Practitioner licensure in MA.
• Licensure and certifications required for surgical APP.
• Experience in post-graduate surgical APP roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform focused H&P exams for ED/Observation surgical patients.
• Navigate tests and labs to support diagnosis and plan.
• Educate patients on disease, treatments, and risks.
• Assist in OR as first/second assistant when needed.
• Manage orders with attending physician coordination.
