Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience, with at least 2 years in an editing role.
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the EW brand.
• An idea generator who can think of new, fresh story ideas.
• Good time management, multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with SEO, social media, content management systems, analytics tools, Photoshop.

Responsibilities

• Lead, edit, and assign breaking entertainment news stories and other features; prioritize coverage, pivoting assignments as news develops, and ensuring the edit queue is cleared before the end of the shift.
• Manage and provide feedback to writers.
• Reporting and writing: deliver great entertainment access stories and news; other duties as assigned.
