Job summary

The University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics invites applications for a staff member to perform case management and follow-up for the Iowa Newborn Screening Program (INSP) and related programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience; or a Master's degree in Genetics or Genetic Counseling.
• Current license to practice nursing in Iowa or board certification/eligibility in genetic counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.

Responsibilities

• Perform case management activities for newborn screening programs, including contact with providers, birthing facilities, and families.
• Document information and outcomes in multiple databases; perform data entry and data review.
• Attend meetings at various levels and travel as required; participate in program meetings and advisory groups.
• Assist with development and review of protocols and educational materials for newborn screening stakeholders.
• Provide education on newborn screening; travel to educate within Iowa and contract states.
• Engage in quality improvement projects and assist with program development for new disorders added to the screening panel.
• Assist with presentations and dissemination of newborn screening research and clinical projects.
