Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Materials Manager, Networking & Hardware to lead the sourcing and supply strategy for critical networking hardware. This role partners with network engineering to ensure timely availability of switches, routers, and DPUs, balancing cost, lead times, and technology transitions across complex lifecycles.

The position focuses on preventing inventory stranding, reducing build delays, and supporting the company’s infrastructure roadmap while ensuring hardware transitions align

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience sourcing networking hardware from major OEMs.
• Strong understanding of networking technologies, including optics, ASICs, and port speeds.
• Proven track record in managing end-of-life and technology transitions.
• Experience with dual-sourcing strategies and their complexities.
• Familiarity with firmware, licensing, and support agreements.
• Bonus: AI/HPC fabric hardware, white-box and ODM switching, and vendor financing.

Responsibilities

• Own the networking hardware category, including switches, routers, and DPUs.
• Negotiate supply agreements with OEMs covering pricing, lead time, and roadmap access.
• Manage dual-sourcing for critical switch platforms and address qualification challenges.
• Align buy plans with network engineering roadmaps to synchronize hardware delivery with design needs.
• Ensure transitions in hardware generations prevent inventory stranding and build delays.
