Job summary

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a passionate and analytical Software Engineer II to join the Software Engineering Team. You will analyze, design, develop, and maintain software applications using the latest Microsoft technologies with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include design, development, maintenance, unit testing, estimates, and mentoring junior programmers. The role supports remote work with home-based setup and requires strong SQL and web services experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer, or technical related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience with ASP.Net, VB.Net, C#, SQL.
Experience with web development in a client/server setup is required.
Experience with relational database design, writing queries and stored procedures with MySQL or Microsoft SQL.
Demonstrates proficiency in coding and OO analysis/development in large enterprise apps.
Experience with development and consumption of web services preferred.
Experience with XSLT, XML required.
HTTP, C#, SQL optimization experience.

Responsibilities

Design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications.
Performs routine programming assignments under supervision.
Develops understanding of assigned application and internal customer area, standards and techniques.
Demonstrates understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards, and training materials.
Unit testing as applicable.
Provide time estimates and compare to actual time spent.
Recommends improvements in applications.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Mentor junior programmers.
Refactor legacy components as needed.
Communicate with product owner and end users.
