U-Haul International, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust APIs/services and UIs using the Microsoft stack, Kafka streams, and Azure. You will contribute to scalable, event-driven architectures and collaborate with cross-functional teams across U-Haul.

The role emphasizes on building resilient systems, modern design principles, and continuous improvement. Remote-friendly with onboarding at the Phoenix campus, candidates must reside in the Phoenix metro

Qualifications

• 3+ years in software development or equivalent
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming and database design
• Experience with Kafka event streams
• Strong understanding of modern design principles for scalable systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication; self-starter
• Team-oriented with ability to collaborate across groups
• Experience with Microsoft stack and Azure DevOps

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions using the full Microsoft stack and supporting technologies
• Implement and manage event-driven architectures using Kafka event streams
• Apply modern software design principles to build scalable, resilient systems
• Provision, monitor, and maintain cloud-based resources via Azure Portal
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve opportunities within the company
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices
• Understand system interactions and integrate multiple applications efficiently
