Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families, operating with NEACWCD, seeks an Executive Director to guide six New England state child welfare agencies. The role focuses on regional policy, leadership development, and跨-state collaboration to advance kin-first care, youth engagement, and workforce development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of leadership in child welfare, human services, or nonprofit sectors.
• Experience leading complex initiatives, grants, and cross-organizational work.
• Proven grant writing and funding development experience.
• Financial oversight, contracts, grants, and operations experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Strategic, system-wide thinking across policy, funding, and workforce.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with Commissioners, Directors, and senior leaders across six New England states.
• Translate priorities into regional initiatives, learning opportunities, and practical strategies.
• Design and facilitate leadership meetings and multi-state learning collaboratives.
• Foster candid discussion, diverse perspectives, and consensus among six independent agencies.
• Monitor federal policy and connect members with experts and resources.
• Develop and lead grant-funded initiatives and oversee project teams.
• Oversee finances, contracts, and organizational operations.
• Represent NEACWCD in regional and national initiatives and conferences.
