Job summary

The Baker Center for Children and Families seeks an Executive Director to guide NEACWCD’s regional initiatives across six New England states. This remote role travels regionally and nationally, reporting to the leadership and engaging Commissioners and Directors to advance kin-first and youth engagement priorities.

The Executive Director will shape policy, build partnerships, and oversee finances, contracts, and sustainability, while managing a diverse set of grant-funded projects and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 8–10 years leadership experience in child welfare or public systems.
• Experience managing grants, partnerships, and cross-organizational work.
• Experience with grant writing and fundraising.
• Financial oversight of contracts and grants.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Strategic and systems thinking across policy and practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEACWCD and develop regional initiatives across six New England states.
• Engage Commissioners and Directors; foster cross-state collaboration.
• Oversee finances, contracts, operations, grants, and sustainability.
• Represent NEACWCD in regional and national initiatives and conferences.
• Build partnerships with federal agencies, funders, and universities.
• Lead grant-funded initiatives and supervise project teams.

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
