Job summary

micro1 is seeking a Naval Subject Matter Expert (Cleared) for a remote contractor role shaping Navy decision-making at the Pentagon. You will provide expert analysis, high-quality briefs, and actionable recommendations based on extensive maritime and defense experience.

The position emphasizes briefing and written communication to senior leaders, with TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred and security-conscious, cross-agency coordination. A master’s degree is desirable.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or comparable maritime/defense roles.
• Active TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred; at minimum Secret clearance within 24 months and eligibility for TS/SCI reinstatement.
• Demonstrated skill briefing and writing for executive or flag-level leadership.
• Familiarity with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, or PEO environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver expert analysis on naval operations, platforms, and doctrine based on fleet or intelligence experience.
• Assess and synthesize classified and unclassified data to create recommendations supporting Navy planning.
• Draft concise written assessments and prepare high-level briefings for senior leadership.
• Coordinate across Navy, DoD, IC, and industry stakeholders to gather insights and align with mission goals.
• Interpret and communicate recent naval capabilities and maritime security developments relevant to objectives.
• Safeguard and handle classified materials (TS/SCI level) per protocols.
