Job summary

The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Foundation is seeking several Major Gifts Officers to build a national donor network and secure transformational gifts for a one‑of‑a‑generation institution. You’ll work remotely from across the United States, travel to meet prospects, and report to the Chief Development Officer.

You’ll identify supporters, develop trusted relationships, and craft compelling proposals to advance the Library’s mission and long‑term impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
• 5+ years of professional fundraising experience, with at least 3 years of major gifts or principal gifts experience.
• Proven success securing five- and five-figure gifts.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Donor Perfect or other CRM/database systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).

Responsibilities

• Build donor portfolios from the ground up identifying prospective supporters and cultivating relationships.
• Conduct donor visits, prepare proposals, and close gifts of five figures and above.
• Maintain accurate donor interactions in CRM systems.
• Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to align major gift efforts with strategy.
• Work with colleagues across development, communications, and programming to develop donor materials and engagement opportunities.
• Participate in campaign planning and special projects as assigned.
