Remote Major Gifts Lead – Grow $2M+ Conservation Portfolio

Trout Unlimited is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer to lead a national portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. The role targets growth from $1M to $2–3M in sustainable annual revenue while cultivating six-to-seven- figure gifts.

The MGO works remotely and reports to the Senior Director of Principal and Major Gifts, traveling 2–3 nights a month across the Western U.S.

Qualifikationen

• At least four (4) years of professional experience in nonprofit individual major gifts fundraising (or equivalent related experience).
• Demonstrated success as a front-line fundraiser with 80+ donors.
• Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding six and seven figure gifts.
• Knowledge of planned giving and endowment campaigns.
• Ability to travel and work in a remote, nationwide team.

Aufgaben

• Manage and grow a portfolio of $25,000-$100,000+ donors to increase annual revenue from $1M to $2-3M.
• Recruit new major donors through events, trips, and donor research.
• Provide stewardship and coordinate with program and development staff to meet fundraising goals.
• Develop engagement opportunities with major donors (visits, trips, dinners) to support conservation work.
• Collaborate with operations and leadership to upgrade donors and maximize portfolio coverage.
• Maintain donor records and meet revenue targets; travel 2-3 nights per month.
