Job summary

Trout Unlimited, Inc. is seeking an experienced Major Gifts Officer to lead a nationwide donor portfolio and drive growth from $1M to $2–3M in annual revenue. You will cultivate, solicit, and steward high-value donors across multiple states with remote work flexibility and travel to donor sites.

The role emphasizes strategy, collaboration with leadership, and communicating TU’s conservation mission to secure transformative gifts and endowment support.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate has at least four years of professional experience in nonprofit major gifts fundraising.
• Demonstrated success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding six- and seven-figure gifts.
• Proven ability to manage 80+ donors with strong communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of donors to grow annual revenue from $1M to $2–3M.
• Recruit new major donors through events, trips, and research.
• Lead stewardship and coordinate with program, development, and leadership staff.
• Develop engagement opportunities with major donors and maintain donor records.
• Travel 2–3 nights per month to donor sites and events.
