Job summary

Meduit is seeking a Database Engineer to design, optimize, and evolve large-scale MySQL environments in a high-volume production setting. This remote position supports multi-tenant architectures and data platforms across the US.

You will work with engineering, data, and analytics teams to modernize database architecture, implement automated deployments, and ensure data integrity. This role requires strong SQL, replication, and HA expertise and offers competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of relational database experience.
• Strong MySQL design, performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with large-scale, multi-terabyte databases.
• Proficient SQL with emphasis on performance.
• Experience with replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Automation experience and Git-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve MySQL schemas for scalable multi-tenant architectures.
• Define indexing, partitioning, and performance standards.
• Optimize complex SQL queries and resolve performance issues.
• Automate DB change management, deployments, and migrations.
• Maintain replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot production data integrity.
• Support MSSQL and Snowflake integrations.
• Collaborate with engineering/BI to align data structures with reporting needs.
• Work within Jira and GitHub for documentation.
