Job summary

UFP Site Built, a division of UFP Industries, Inc., is seeking a Multifamily Truss Designer to deliver accurate roof and floor truss designs for single-family, multi-family, and commercial projects. This role emphasizes software-driven optimization and close collaboration with sales and production.

The position is full-time and offers remote-friendly work with a base based in Burlington, NC. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience and proficiency with Mitek

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in related field/responsibilities.
• Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software is preferred.
• Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Designs metal plate-connected wood trusses and wall panels utilizing adequate software.
• Optimizes designs for maximum efficiency.
• Reviews orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy.
• Assists sales and production with design service and troubleshooting.
• Ensures efficient resource utilization and initiates corrective action as required.
• Prepares various reports as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
