Job summary

UFP Site Built designs wood and non-wood components for the construction industry, including trusses and wall panels. You will use Mitek software to design metal plate-connected trusses and wall panels for single-family to commercial projects.

The role emphasizes optimizing designs, reviewing orders for accuracy, and assisting sales and production with design services. A minimum high school diploma is required; a related bachelor's degree is preferred, with 2–5 years of truss design experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in roof/floor truss design.
• Working knowledge and experience using Mitek software are preferred.
• Working knowledge of floor and roof systems and the ability to spec out beams and hangars.

Responsibilities

• Design metal plate-connected wood trusses and Wall Panels utilizing Mitek software.
• Optimize designs for maximum efficiency.
• Review orders, layouts, and data files for accuracy.
• Assist sales and production with design service and troubleshooting.
• Performs other duties as required.
