Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in a designated metropolitan area. You will take applications, perform preliminary underwriting, and guide files through processing and underwriting for approval.

Responsibilities include proactive document collection, meeting underwriting requirements, and driving loan sales. Significant travel and a flexible on-site presence near our locations are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience.
• Ability to travel.
• 2 years of mortgage loan origination experience with proven results (preferred).
• Established referral base within assigned market preferred.
• Remote posting; candidates near locations may need to work on site at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Originates mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory.
• Takes applications, conducts preliminary underwriting reviews, submits loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Follows up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured from sources in a timely manner.
• Incumbents are engaged in making and soliciting loan sales and conducting sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations (≈50% travel).
