Job summary

GreenState Credit Union is seeking a Mortgage Loan Associate in Naperville, IL to create, collect, analyze, and advise members on mortgage loan options. You will manage loan applications, gather required information, and coordinate with processing and underwriters to ensure timely, compliant files.

The role involves strong member service, collaboration with realtors and referrals, and flexibility to cover non-traditional hours during peak periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a minimum of three years related work experience.
• Knowledge of mortgage lending procedures, forms, secondary market guidelines and regulations.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours during peak demand.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently, to manage large volumes of details.
• Interpersonal skills to represent the credit union positively with members.
• Must be bondable and/S.A.F.E. Act registered.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards.
• Demonstrates a positive member service focus at all times.
• Demonstrates teamwork in interactions with coworkers and in duties.
• Ensures confidentiality of member information.
• Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.
• Conducts mortgage loan application interviews and assists applicants with completion.
• Gathers all required applicant information to complete a full loan application.
• Assists loan processing with files when needed.
• Fields and returns calls and emails for Mortgage Loan Officers.
• Follows up with referrals and schedules appointments.
• Orders appraisal and credit reports to support the loan application.
• Submits full application to processing and works with Underwriters.
• Ensures documentation and regulatory compliance in loan files.
• Promotes GreenState mortgage products within the community.
• Coordinates with processing to ensure timely investor documentation.
• Communicates status updates to members and agents.
• Schedules initial appointments with Mortgage Loan Officer.
• Backs up Mortgage Loan Officer during absences.
