Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate loans in an assigned metropolitan territory, take applications, perform preliminary underwriting, and move files through processing and closing.

The role may be remote, but candidates located near a U.S. Bank location will be required to work onsite at least three days per week; 2+ hours of driving per week are expected, with NMLS registration and full background checks required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically at least one year of mortgage, sales, real estate, or banking experience.
• Ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Originate mortgage loans in an assigned metropolitan territory.
• Take applications, conduct preliminary underwriting reviews, and submit loan applications to processing and underwriting for approval.
• Follow up to ensure documents required for processing, underwriting, and closing are secured in a timely manner.
• Perform sales-related activities away from U.S. Bank locations.
