Job summary

Banksouthern is seeking a Mortgage Community Development Lender to originate quality mortgage loans for low to moderate-income (LMI) and minority borrowers. This role emphasizes community development and requires extensive knowledge of the Community Reinvestment Act and affordable housing programs.

The ideal candidate will work with various non-profit organizations and must be located in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TN or TX. Strong interpersonal skills and prior experience in community development lending are essential.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in community development lending or minority mortgage lending.
• Must have or receive NMLS clearance.
• Good listener and self-starter with demonstrated ability.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality mortgage loans for underserved communities.
• Increase mortgage loan volume through effective consultative selling.
• Conduct outreach training classes in financial literacy.
