Job summary

LILT is seeking skilled linguists to join our translation pool as independent contractors. You will translate content between English and your native language, ensuring cultural nuance and accuracy, with opportunities to edit, refine, and apply industry standards across digital platforms.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Production and cross-functional teams, providing feedback to improve language model quality, and supporting localization and QA for digital tools.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in the target language(s).
• Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR
• Graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of professional translation experience.
• 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
• Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.

Responsibilities

• Translate content between English and your native language while preserving cultural nuance and clarity.
• Edit and refine language content for accuracy, tone, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
• Apply current language standards, usage trends, and best practices to all deliverables.
• Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve language model quality.
• Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize content for your language-speaking markets.
• Support content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.
• If transcreation is required, creatively adapt text beyond the source to read naturally in the target language.
