Job summary

NCFE is seeking moderators for a flexible remote role. You will review centre-marked work, apply QA standards, and provide constructive feedback to maintain national standards.

Ideal candidates have a Level 3+ qualification in creative design or related field and experience in teaching, assessing, or moderating vocational qualifications. This flexible worker contract requires commitment across moderation windows, with core moderation between April and August 2027.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of assessment and QA processes.
• Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to work independently.
• Commitment to high standards and positive learner experience.
• Experience teaching, assessing, or moderating vocational or academic qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct moderation activities in line with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
• Attend standardisation and team meetings as required.
• Review centre marking to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Produce clear, accurate moderation reports within SLAs.
• Plan and manage moderation activity for allocated centres per sampling strategies.
• Identify areas for development and share best practices.
