Job summary

NCFE is seeking Moderators for its External Quality Assurance team on a flexible worker contract, working remotely. The role focuses on Level 1/2 Technical Award in Child Development and Care in Early Years, ensuring fair, accurate assessment and providing constructive feedback to centres to uphold national standards.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in child development, experience in teaching or assessing in this area, and proven ability to communicate clearly in reports.

Qualifications

• Strong background in child development and early years.
• Experience in teaching, assessing, internal quality assurance, or moderating.
• Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct moderation activities in line with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.
• Attend standardisation and team meetings as required.
• Review centre marking to ensure accuracy and consistency of assessment decisions.
• Produce clear, accurate moderation reports within SLAs.
• Plan and manage moderation activity for allocated centres according to sampling strategies.
