Job summary

SentiLink seeks an Applied ML Manager to own a core area end to end and lead a growing team of ML scientists. You’ll coach, review code, and contribute hands-on where it matters, while aligning ML work with product goals and risk priorities.

You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, and Risk to deliver high-impact ML solutions, shape strategy, and advance fraud and identity verification capabilities using modern ML tooling and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience applying machine learning or statistics to real-world problems, including 3+ years directly managing ML or data science teams.
• Experience leading ML or data science teams in fraud, identity, fintech, banking, financial services, payments, or related risk domains.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.
• Experience deploying production machine learning models and writing production-quality Python code and tests.
• Strong practical ML and applied statistics knowledge with ability to scope solutions quickly.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of applied ML scientists, 4 today and growing to 6 by end of 2026.
• Own execution for your area: priorities, delivery, and results.
• Coach and mentor team members through model development and technical decision making; remain hands-on where it matters.
• Partner with senior leadership, Product, Engineering, and Risk to prioritize work and deliver impactful ML solutions.
• Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and results clearly; represent domain in product strategy discussions.
• Develop and improve fraud detection and identity models across the full lifecycle: data, labeling, training, deployment, monitoring, iteration.
• Research emerging fraud patterns and design analyses informing product and business decisions.
• Use AI across the team’s work and contribute to AI safety and data governance.
