Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Machine Learning Research Engineer (entry-level) to join a remote-first team in the United States. You will work with data scientists and engineers to build, train, and deploy ML models that personalize experiences at scale.

You will develop scalable data pipelines, refine ranking models, and evaluate model performance using rigorous experimentation. This role emphasizes production-quality Python code, collaboration, and impact across product teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships, research, academic projects, or professional experience).
• Strong programming skills in Python and ML fundamentals including supervised learning, classification, regression, feature engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy ML models for personalization and recommendations.
• Build scalable data pipelines for feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and inference.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to transition research into production.
• Improve recommendation and ranking models using large-scale behavioral data.
• Monitor and evaluate model performance via experiments, A/B testing, and data-driven analysis.
• Write clean, maintainable Python code following software engineering practices.
• Support customer engagement and business outcomes through ML solutions.
