Job summary

CP Engineers is seeking a Project Manager to lead MEP engineering projects for industrial and manufacturing clients, guiding projects from concept through construction. The role emphasizes strong client relationships, team leadership, and effective budget/schedule management to ensure quality and profitability.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in MEP project management, familiarity with GMP/OSHA/NFPA, and a track record of delivering complex industrial facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, Project/Operations Management, or related field preferred; significant experience in the MEP industry considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in engineering project management or owner's representative experience overseeing MEP projects.
• Proven experience managing MEP projects in manufacturing/industrial facilities with large-scale mechanical/electrical systems.
• Experience in industrial sectors such as pharmaceutical, food processing, automotive, warehousing/logistics, or advanced manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong ability to engage with clients, understand business needs, and build trusted relationships.
• Strong understanding of building systems design, construction processes, and industrial facility requirements.
• Proficient in project management software for planning, management, reporting, and analytics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills for multi-project environments.
• Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and NFPA; process design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage MEP engineering projects for industrial and manufacturing clients from concept through construction.
• Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules aligned with client expectations.
• Oversee project staffing, scope changes, contract compliance, profitability, invoicing, and receivables.
• Serve as primary client contact and maintain strong relationships to identify additional work.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, fire protection).
• Oversee preparation of engineering reports, design drawings, specs, permit applications, and bid documents.
• Ensure all work complies with codes, standards, and client requirements.
• Identify and manage project risks, delays, and design conflicts; monitor profitability and take corrective actions.
• Support business development through proposals and client opportunities.
