Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Senior Analyst, Reimbursement, to prepare or review third-party financial accounting, contractual allowances, cost reports and surveys across one or more hospitals. You will work with Finance, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Government Relations and Leadership to support strategic goals.

The role requires experience with Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, hospital cost reporting and data analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or other business related field with four years’ experience.
• Master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or other business-related field with two years experience.
• Computer skills including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and non-routine tasks requiring in-depth analysis and recommends plans to resolve problems. Direction is limited to overall process and complex problems. Timely and accurately completes assigned tasks.
• Manages reimbursement processes and interacts with HIM, PAS, and hospital finance staff as needed.
• Prepares Medicare and Medicaid settlement and policy reserve calculations.
• Prepares or reviews cost reports and surveys, reviews audit adjustments and settlements, and files appeals and exception requests to maximize reimbursement.
• Mentors staff and coordinates reimbursement functions.
• Stays current on laws and regulations related to reimbursement and assesses impact on hospital operations.
• Manages scope, deadlines, and delivers to customers; develops procedures and quality standards.
• Investigates changes in reimbursement and communicates potential impacts to leadership.
• Is responsible for 2+ hospitals or 1+ hospital and Central Office assignments.
