Qualifications

• Four-year college accounting degree and knowledge of accounting theory.
• Graduate degrees in healthcare or business preferred.
• CPA is preferred but not required.
• Extensive knowledge of governmental programs (Medicare/Medicaid).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the annual Medicare/Medicaid cost reports and related statements.
• Assist with amended reports, reopening reports, and settlement audits.
• Prepare Champus reports for hospitals to obtain payment.
• Prepare Medicaid UC/DSH applications and reconciliations per Texas guidelines.
• Prepare Trauma applications for trauma-designated hospitals.
• Prepare components of Community Benefits and AHA Surveys.
• Submit to hospital liaison for timely filing.
• Provide information for special projects for Directors/Managers.
• Monitor regulatory changes to Medicare/Medicaid and cost reporting instructions.
• Analyze impacts of regulatory changes on program payments.
• Monthly accounting entries and annual settlement analyses for Medicaid programs.
