Job summary

AstraZeneca Rare Disease seeks a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to support scientific objectives across the US field. The role is home-based, requiring travel within the territory to engage HCPs & KOLs, share data, and foster strong external relationships.

You will collaborate with Medical Directors and cross-functional partners, staying current on product science, real-world evidence, and HEOR while advancing medical goals in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum 2+ years of direct patient care experience.
• Clinical experience in a relevant therapeutic area or proven MSL success.
• MD/PhD/PharmD strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates territory to identify HCPs and centers of excellence.
• Develops clear HCP engagement plans aligned with medical goals.
• Gains HCPs’ trust by providing scientific information on products and diseases.
• Gathers and disseminates HCP insights to inform medical strategy.
• Develops strong working relationships in external business settings.
• Keeps current with scientific knowledge within assigned products.
• Supports scientific exchange with external stakeholders as needed.
• Provides relevant information to internal teams and HEOR discussions.
• Understands clinical study design and ensures balanced information for discussions.
• Develops knowledge of the US healthcare system and managed markets.
• Travel 70% within territory and manage field-based activities.
