Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital is seeking a Referral Representative for a fully remote, full-time position based in Des Moines, Iowa. You will process insurance pre-authorizations for primary and specialty service visits and tests, gathering patient and provider information to determine financial obligations.

You will coordinate with patients, clinics, and insurers to obtain authorizations, document progress in EMR, and help patients navigate insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process referrals and manage patient demographics, insurance data, and medical needs.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of referrals.
• Route inbound referrals per regulatory requirements and Intermountain standards.
• Coordinate with patients, clinics, and insurers for pre-authorization.
• Work with payer relations to address denials or appeals.
• Utilize insurance platforms and EMR systems for data entry and reporting.
