Job summary

Neighbors Emergency Center is seeking a diligent Remote Medical Records Clerk to join our team. This full-time, remote role offers day or night shifts and responsibilities include managing patient records with strict confidentiality, using EHR systems, and ensuring data protection compliance.

The ideal candidate has prior medical records experience, strong terminology knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as Medical Records Clerk or similar healthcare role.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, data protection principles, and patient confidentiality.
• Proficient with EHR systems and MS Office.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced emergency care environment is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Accurately process, organise, and maintain patient medical records within the EHR system.
• Ensure all medical records are complete and compliant with data protection regulations and internal policies.
• Handle secure retrieval and release of medical information to patients, providers, and other authorized parties.
• Scan, index, and file clinical documentation and correspondence correctly.
• Conduct regular quality assurance audits on medical records to ensure integrity and accuracy.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding medical records professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless information flow.
