Job summary

DaMar Staffing is seeking MRTs (Coder) for the Health Information Management Service (HIMS). This position involves classifying medical data from patient health records in hospital or physician settings, with responsibilities across coding levels from GS-4 to GS-8.

You will assign codes from ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS, ensure proper diagnosis-to-procedure linkage, and maintain coding accuracy for inpatient and outpatient encounters.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical record content, terminology, anatomy & physiology and disease processes.
• Ability to apply official coding guidelines to inpatient and outpatient data.
• Learn to select codes with supervisor guidance and policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes for inpatient and outpatient encounters using ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, CPT and HCPCS.
• Ensure accurate linkage of diagnoses and procedures for billable services.
• Update codes for census and monthly billing under supervision.
• Mentor or orient new staff as needed.
