Job summary

SCAN Health Insurance is seeking a detail-oriented specialist to support Medical Management. You will respond to provider calls, enter data into CCMS, authorize services, and assist in securing information for quality care to SCAN members.

The role emphasizes data entry, utilization management, and strong communication skills in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment with benefits supporting professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years medical experience in managed care preferred.
• Proficiency with data entry is required.
• ICD-9, CPT coding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology required.
• Utilization Management experience required.
• Excellent, primarily telephonic communication skills.
• Familiarity with Medicare/Medi-Cal guidelines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Medical Management by responding to provider calls and faxes.
• Enter inpatient and related data into the case management system (CCMS) and authorize services.
• Assist in securing information to ensure delivery of quality care to SCAN members.
• Process and monitor claims data for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Research eligibility and benefits to verify member data and network status.
• Serve as a resource for internal/external customers and maintain confidentiality.
