Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Medical Insurance Claims Follow-up Specialist for a Work from Home role with Parallon. The position requires living within 60 miles of an HCA hospital and performing duties remotely, with an 8-hour shift between 6am–6pm CST.

You will process insurance accounts, resolve claim issues, and handle calls to insurance companies, guarantors, patients, and providers. The role emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and knowledge of hospital billing terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Medical Insurance Claims Follow-up/Billing for a facility, medical clinic, or doctor’s office; experience with Microsoft Office suite and standard office equipment (efax) preferred.
• Physician and Hospital Claim Denial experience required
• Experience with Adobe documents
• Work from home roles require wired high speed internet 25 MB download and 15 MB upload
• Remote employees are required to live within a 60 mile radius of an HCA Hospital

Responsibilities

• Status accounts and document all work performed in the company and client computer systems.
• Assess accounts to determine the next appropriate course of action in line with company policies and procedures.
• Place outbound calls to insurance companies, guarantors, patients, doctors’ offices and/or facilities and handle incoming calls as necessary utilizing proper customer service protocol.
• Process related correspondence from insurance companies and perform pertinent follow-up.
• Reconcile balances and payments between insurance companies and client’s computer systems.
• Understand medical and insurance terminology and hospital/physician billing.
• Demonstrate communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to act/decide accordingly.
• Ability to collect, create and research complex or diverse information.
• Provide exceptional customer service and the ability to plan, organize and exercise sound judgment.
