Job summary

Wheel is seeking a Medical Director to own virtual care protocols and lead QA in a fast-moving, AI-enabled health-tech environment. This senior role oversees clinical design, outcomes tracking, and safety escalations, with strong cross-functional collaboration with product and engineering.

The ideal candidate holds an MD or DO, is board-certified in Family/Internal/Emergency Medicine, and has substantial virtual care leadership experience.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Active medical license in good standing within the US.
• Experience leading clinical teams in telehealth or digital health.

Responsibilities

• Write, update, and refine clinical protocols for virtual care programs.
• Lead the clinical QA program and integrate AI for scale.
• Develop frameworks to track patient and clinical outcomes.
• Manage patient-safety escalation protocols and maintain standards.
