Job summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a Medical Coding Specialist for a remote role with occasional on-site work at client locations. The position focuses on ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT IV, and HCPCS coding across outpatient services using 3M and related software, while ensuring medical necessity and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of coding experience, familiarity with EPIC and coding tools, and certifications such as CPC-A, CPC, CCA, or CCS.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous coding experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC and coding software tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Must be inquisitive and demonstrate openness to AI to improve processes.
• AAPC or AHIMA Coding Certification: CPC-A, CPC, CCA or CCS.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical record documentation and assigns ICD-9-CM, ICD-10, CPT IV, and HCPCS codes using 3M software tools.
• Apply appropriate charges such as E&M levels and injections/infusions for Observation cases and other requirements.
• Perform medical necessity checks for Medicare and other payers as required by guidelines.
• Monitor and manage Discharged Not Final Billed, failed claims, stop bills, and epremis as a team; ensure timely, compliant processing of outpatient claims.
• Maintain established productivity and quality standards for 3M 360 CAC for CRS & Direct Code; ensure accuracy.
• Stay updated on CMS National Coverage Determinations and LCD/MCD requirements for modifiers and clean claims.
• Attend system, hospital and departmental meetings and required trainings; pursue ongoing education and certifications.
