Job summary

OU Health seeks an Experienced Professional Coding Specialist to independently code complex encounters across multiple specialties in a 100% remote role after training. The ideal candidate has CPC or CCS-P, 3+ years of physician/provider coding, and strong ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS knowledge.

Experience with Epic, Encoder Pro, and Solventum/3M is preferred. High school diploma required; benefits include PTO and medical plans. Remote work eligibility applies in designated states.

Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in ICD10CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers.
• Strong E/M coding proficiency and payer policy interpretation.
• Experience coding across multiple specialties in a hospital/academic setting.

Responsibilities

• Code complex professional encounters with correct sequencing and modifiers.
• Resolve coding edits and denials by root-cause analysis and rebilling as needed.
• Apply payer policies, NCCI concepts, and telehealth rules to professional claims.
• Provide real-time guidance to peers on standard coding scenarios.
• Participate in internal quality reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Review documentation across settings in the EHR and in Epic queues.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation for compliant queries.
• Demonstrate knowledge of risk adjustment concepts and HCC validation where applicable.
