Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks a Coding Coordinator of Quality & Education to oversee coding data flow for billing across inpatient and outpatient sites. You will ensure accurate, timely submissions and act as a liaison to the coding reimbursement process while educating providers and staff on documentation practices.

The role emphasizes reviewing surgical coding and denials with 100% remote work and flexible hours after training to optimize workflow and educational impact within the Corporate Services

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Associates Degree in Healthcare related field, Medical Records Sciences, or Business/Healthcare administration or five (5) years coding experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
• Additional specialty coding certification or two (2) years of specialty coding experience required.
• Must have thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.
• Five (5) years of specialty coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly coordinates, oversees and controls the flow of medical record coded information for billing/reimbursement purposes.
• Ensures completeness, accuracy, quality and timely submission of data for inpatient discharges and outpatient encounters.
• Acts as liaison to coding reimbursement process activities and educates providers and coding staff on coding and documentation.
