Job summary

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a Coding Coordinator of Quality & Education for a 100% remote role. You will oversee coded medical record information for billing and reimbursement, ensuring completeness and accuracy for inpatient discharges and outpatient encounters.

The role includes acting as a liaison in the coding reimbursement process and designing educational programs to improve documentation practices within the department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in healthcare related field or five years coding experience may substitute education.
• Additional specialty coding certification or two years specialty coding experience required.
• Must have thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, medical terminology, pharmacology and coding systems.
• Five years of specialty coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs and controls the flow of coded medical record information for billing/reimbursement.
• Acts as liaison to coding reimbursement activities and ensures timely submission.
• Designs and evaluates educational programs to improve documentation practices.
• Serves as an educational resource for providers and coding staff.
