Datavant is seeking a Provider Practice Coding Consultant to enhance coding quality and ensure compliance within healthcare settings. You will be responsible for reviewing medical records, assigning appropriate codes, and conducting data quality assessments. The ideal candidate should hold AHIMA or AAPC credentials and demonstrate strong communication and time management skills. This role offers a unique opportunity to impact coding practices while working in a flexible environment. The pay range is $20—$28 per hour, based in Helena, Montana.

Qualifications

• AHIMA certified credentials (RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC certified credentials (CPC, CPC-H, COC, CIC or CRC).
• Experience in a process-driven, high-volume coding environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, adeptness in remote work.
• Experience in computerized encoding and abstracting software.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records and assign precise codes.
• Conduct data quality reviews of records.
• Communicate with co-workers, management, and hospital staff.
• Identify documentation improvement opportunities.

Skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Knowledge of CPT II codes
