Job summary

Humana is hiring a Medical Coding Auditor to extract and code clinical information from medical records, applying ICD-10-CM, CPT and coding standards. The role supports outpatient auditing and requires independent judgment in a production environment.

The position is remote with occasional travel for training or meetings, typical hours Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, and a pay range of $59,300–$80,900 per year. Interview process uses Hire Vue technology for pre‑recorded responses.

Qualifications

• CPC, COC, CCS, RHIA, or RHIT certification with at least 3 years post-certification experience.
• Minimum 2 years outpatient medical record auditing with knowledge of outpatient coding conventions.
• Strong knowledge of NCDs/LCDs, CMS Manual, NCCI Edits, and coding guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise solid judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel).
