Job summary

Qualifications

• CPC/COC/CCS/ROCC/RHIA/RHIT certification with at least 3 years post-certification experience.
• Experience coding outpatient surgeries and procedures.
• Strong CPT/HCPCS knowledge.
• Experience reading and coding from operative reports.
• Chemotherapy or Therapeutic Infusion experience.
• Ability to work independently with strong time management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Verify accuracy of procedure codes based on services rendered.
• Review medical documentation for clinical indicators for APC Outpatient Facility coding.
• Utilize encoders and coding resources.
• Perform CPT/HCPCS procedure reviews.
• Conduct peer reviews to ensure compliance with coding guidelines.
• Maintain patient and physician confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain current knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT guidelines and protocols.
• Complete system entries for claim/encounter information.
• Support and participate in process and quality improvement initiatives.
