Qualifications

• Credentials: Active certification from AAPC or AHIMA, including CPC or CCS.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of production coding, auditing, or CDI experience in inpatient, outpatient, or professional fee settings.
• Location: Must be based in the United States.
• Communication: Ability to provide concise, technical rationale for code assignments and to cite the specific guideline or payer policy supporting each decision.
• Commitment: Flexible, project-based hours designed to fit around a full-time coding schedule

Responsibilities

• Coding Logic Auditing: Review and refine AI-generated code assignments to ensure alignment with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, and HCPCS Level.
• High-Complexity Validation: Provide expert-level ground truth for full chart abstractions, including E/M level selection, modifier application, MS-DRG and APC assignment, and HCC risk adjustment capture.
• Compliance Oversight: Identify unbundling, upcoding, undercoding, NCCI edit violations, and medical necessity gaps in AI outputs that could create audit exposure or claim denials.
• Strategic Consulting: Advise on the development of AI-driven coding, CDI, and revenue cycle support tools across care settings
