Job summary

Sprinter Health is seeking a remote Medical Coding Auditor to conduct routine and focused audits of ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers, ensuring CMS and payer compliance. You will educate coders and providers to improve documentation accuracy and support audit readiness.

You will work from a home office in a collaborative Coding Department, maintaining audit logs and performance metrics while staying current with regulations and payer policies.

Qualifications

• Active AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS-P, CCS) certification.
• Minimum 3 years of medical coding experience.
• 1-2 years in coding audit, QA, or compliance.
• Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, and modifier assignment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and focused audits of medical coding to ensure CMS, payer, and organizational standards.
• Develop and deliver education and feedback to coders and providers to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Assist with internal and external audit preparation and response, including documentation requests and validation reviews.
• Maintain audit tracking logs, productivity reports, and accuracy metrics per company policies.
• Stay current with AAPC, AHIMA, CMS, and OIG guidelines and payer policy changes.
