Emory Healthcare is seeking a remote coding and documentation professional to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance across professional coding services. You will review records, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with providers and compliance teams to support proper reimbursement.

The role emphasizes audits, chart reviews, training, and ongoing knowledge of coding guidelines and regulations to mitigate risk and improve documentation quality.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of post-secondary education in a business or medical-related field preferred.
• Two years of experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare revenue cycle.
• Coding certification through a recognized organization such as AAPC or AHIMA required (CCS-P, CPC, RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC-H).

Responsabilidades

• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of medical coding and documentation for professional coding services.
• Review patient records, clinical documentation, and coded data to identify discrepancies and coding issues.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, coders, and compliance teams to support accurate professional coding practices.
• Support appropriate reimbursement and mitigate compliance risks through detailed coding reviews.
• Conduct comprehensive chart reviews to evaluate coding accuracy and documentation quality.
• Evaluate provider documentation to ensure appropriate coding and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in routine audits to maintain high standards of coding accuracy and compliance.
• Provide education and training to healthcare professionals regarding coding standards and documentation improvement.
• Analyze coding data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and compliance risks.
• Generate audit reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
